Vicksburg Coding and Robotics Camp Friday, July 28th, 2017, 1:30 – 3 p.m. @ Coastal Hydraulics Laboratory at U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), 3909 Halls Ferry Rd, Vicksburg, MS 39183
The Vicksburg Coding and Robotics Camp is a weeklong day camp which was organized by Morning Star SDA church pastor, Roscoe Shields, to teach important digital literacy and computing skills to youth in his church. The camp will be led by Mississippi State University students with support from ERDC computer scientists. Students will learn important cybersecurity and coding concepts as they learn to control the movement and behavior of Finch robots using the robots’ motors and sensors.
Program partners: Morning Star SDA church, US Army Engineer Research and Development Center, MSU Computer Science & Engineering Department, Mississippi State University Institute for Systems Engineering Research (ISER) and Kids Code Mississippi.
Mississippi youth, from 9 to 18 years of age, programming and operating Finch robots.
